DANIEL DP SHERIDAN
Daniel DP Sheridan - A Davenport native, Daniel got his start in the theatre at the age of 11 with Davenport's Junior Theatre. As a member of Junior Theatre he studied all elements of theatre and was on the Junior Staff at the age of 14. He is a graduate of West High School, where he was extremely active in Drama and the National Forensic League (Speech & Debate). He was a double state champion in Legislative Debate and Original Oratory.

After high school, Daniel attended college at St. Ambrose University where he earned his BA in Theatre. Initially he arrived at SAU only intending to study Acting. By his last two years at SAU, he was directing and designing far more than he saw the stage. While at St. Ambrose, Daniel spent a couple summers at Theatre L'Homme Dieu in northern Minnesota and won the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship (Region V), which took him on to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He also spent a semester abroad in London, studying Performance Art at the University of London (Queen Mary).

After St. Ambrose, Daniel decided to refocus his efforts on Acting as his means of continued study. He ended up in the MFA Program at the University of Connecticut, a small masters program which takes 10 actors every three years. While at UConn, he was an acting company member for the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, as well as studying a wide array of vocal, movement, and acting techniques. Between his second and third year, he spent a summer at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis as a member of the "Guthrie Experience."

After grad school, Daniel returned to direct THREE VIEWINGS for the Curtainbox Theatre. He then set off for the summer to direct HAMLET at the Antioch Classical Theatre Company, just outside San Francisco. Currently Daniel is the Artistic Director of Davenport Junior Theatre and Performing Arts Coordinator for the City of Davenport. He recently kicked off Junior Theatre's 57th Season by directing BUNNICULA. Daniel is thrilled to be working with the Curtainbox, and is anxious to become an official company member.
