Time Stands Still PLOT
Time Stands Still, which ran on Broadway in two
separate productions (2009 and 2010-2011), is the
story of war correspondents Sarah (Kim Furness)
and James (Eddie Staver III) and their very real,
flawed relationship. Both Sarah and James have
just returned from Afghanistan and Iraq with
physical and mental wounds, and now must
consider the practical and moral issues that
surround their work. When confronted with the
happiness found by longtime friend and editor
Richard (Mike Schulz) and his new, young girlfriend
Mandy (Jessica Denney), Sarah and James consider
what's really important in life.
Charles Isherwood of The New York Times wrote
that the Tony Award-nominated Time Stands Still
"crackles with bright wit and intelligence," and that
it "weaves a quiet spell of moment-to-moment
truth, but the jolts of heightened drama spring at
you with unnerving ferocity."
