David Furness was born and raised in the Quad Cities.  He took his first acting class as a junior in College at St. Ambrose University.  By the time he graduated two years later with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Theater, he had been given the opportunity to play many great roles such as Eddie Carbone in A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, Bobby Gould in SPEED – THE – PLOW, Danny in SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN CHICAGO, and Paul Verall in BORN YESTERDAY.  Dave stage managed and worked as an actor for Circa 21 Dinner Theater Playhouse playing the role of  Mr. Lawson in NOT NOW, DARLING.   In Los Angeles, David directed the Curtainbox Theatre company’s first play, PIZZA MAN.   He also played the role of Michael in TWO ROOMS, and directed the first production of THREE VIEWINGS in California.  He also worked as a professional lighting designer for over 5 years and wrote a few spec screenplays.  One of which was optioned for possible production.   He directed a short film titled “Cheerleader Camp” and worked on several independent film projects as a production assistant. Dave played a small role in an independent film entitled REVOLVER, produced by a Los Angeles film company and filmed here in the Quad Cities.   He also worked as production assistant as well as playing a small role in the Award winning short film THE MATERIALISTS.  Dave has been a co- producer on 5 shows for The Curtainbox .
